Join us on September 23 for a mass mobilization in downtown Toronto, to demand immediate climate action. On this day people will be striking in cities across the globe under #PeopleNotProfit

Will you join us?

See below for all the different ways you can help us out after the strike. We would also really appreciate it if you filled out our very short feedback form.

Where: Queen's Park

When: 2pm on Friday, September 23

We will be meeting at 2:00 for a rally with speakers and music, followed by a march at 3:00. The march will go east on Wellesley, south on Yonge, then west on Queen, ending at Nathan Phillips Square.

Our Demands

We demand that all levels of government, as well as banks, universities, insurance companies and investment funds, take action to:

  • Reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions by 60% by 2030 compared to 2005 levels

  • Respect Indigenous sovereignty

  • Divest from fossil fuels and invest in abundant, affordable and clean renewable energy.

  • Guarantee a just transition away from fossil fuels to a clean economy for workers and communities

  • Put equity at the forefront of climate action, because they go hand in hand

  • Invest in healthcare and public services to prepare for the unavoidable, since the climate crisis is also a public health crisis

You can find a complete list of our demands here.
